When we arrived home last evening from a lovely Sunday family supper, the sound that greeted me as I stepped out of the car was a beautiful noise that grew louder and louder. It was sweet music to my ears that had been silenced since the cold winds of winter blew into our valley. It is a most welcome promise that the spring will defeat Old Man Winter once again. The beautiful noise that has taken the chill out of my bones was the choir of frogs singing that old familiar song, that yes, oh yes warmer days are on the way.............
As we kiss the month of love goodbye I'm reminded of what Grandmother Charlotte always says this time of year, "Many a March I have seen in my 90 some years, bring with it winter, spring, summer, fall, oh yes Darlin, you can have them all".
Before we welcome the new month I feel we must reflect on all of the blessings of February, for it brought so much to us this year. Starting with many new doors opening for Blue Ridge Enchantments, including new as well as old clients for their patronage and continued support. For the local shop that will be selling a complete line of all our products, and hosting a variety of our classes and workshops. Let's also remember that February brought the first post of the Enchanting Happenings Blog. For this we are most thankful!
However, the greatest blessing we shared this month, was the celebration of our parents 50th wedding anniversary and of course we were happy that we did not have snow up to the roof tops of our cars, as they did 50 years ago. It was a quiet celebration with family, and the cake was indeed a success, although a labor of love the smiles on their faces made it worth the work. Mom and Dad have been an inspiration to us all! Many thanks and blessings to you and yours.........
Next Month we'll be making Irish Soda Bread, hope you'll join us!

Welcome to Blue Ridge Enchantments, Many Thanks to You All!
February 2011
As a gentle southern breeze blows, it brings warmth to the valley with each little gust. the birds song and the gentle sound of the creek are all I hear as the suns rays shine upon my face. Newborn calves lay in the fields, the goats grazing on hay as the barn cats chase last autumns leaves that are rustling in the wind.
I wonder and hope as I gaze over the winter fields could these be signs of an early spring this year? The seed catalogs have been filling the mailbox over these last few week. Soon all the planning and dreaming during these cold winter months will soon be put into action.
Busy preparing the spring crafts that will be sold at a local store has filled me with visions of spring, if only in my mind for now and with a few days of a taste of what is yet to come.......
